This really interesting product works well. I purchased it to keep my insulin cool while traveling from California to Florida, and on a Caribbean cruise. It is simply a matter of soaking the product in cold water for about 15 minutes, and then it is good to go, and its cooling effect is good for at least two days. It is important to note that it will keep your meds cool, but not refrigerator-cold, so one must plan accordingly. After use, it takes weeks for the cooling gel to dry back to its original crystal state, which is a tad inconvenient, but having the medications stay cool is well worth the trouble.

Love this thing! It was recommended by my kid's endocrinologist, but I didn't know exactly what it was until I saw it shared around a Facebook page. I got the large size, and it was perfect for a hot summer's worth of activities: day camp, water parks, road trips... we just soaked the inside part for the recommended time, put it all together and off we went. When I wanted to dry it, I just put it upside down over a ketchup bottle (a new one that didn't need refrigeration) for a day or 2. I expected it to be icy cold, but it was just "cool." And so was my T1's insulin! Just after I bought this one, we received the next size up from a JDRF event. That one's a little too big.

I bought this for my son's Epipens. It appears nothing like this product exists specifically for Epipens, just for insulin. But, this particular size fits two Epipens (in their cases) perfectly. It stays cool all day. We use it when going out on the boat or at the beach in the hot sun, and it works all day and even had some usefulness the next day without recharging. Great product, sure to save you some money compared to replacing Epipens spoiled by the heat!

I received this on May 26th for my 17 year old to carry his epipens in. My son is outside all day, 12 hours a day in the heat. This was great at keeping my son's epipens from getting hot while outside in the 90 degree and higher temps. He keeps it in his backpack which only holds his lunch and is kept on a chair under a tree. He keeps it in an upright position because he uses the bag to hold his drumsticks and can't lay the bag down because he doesn't want to crack or break his sticks so the bag and it's contents were never pushing or weighing on the cooling wallet which stayed in an outside pocket of the backpack. Today we couldn't figure out why his epipens had a greasy, sticky substance on them. I took out the innner sleeve, stuck my hand in it and felt the same substance. I also noticeds that the outer column/tube that holds the substance inside that expands to keep the sleeve cool was flat and whatever was inside was now all over the inside and is no longer useable. It's too late to return it since it's literally just over the 30 day window. This isn't an inexpensive item and now I'm out the product AND my money.

I was apprehensive about this wallet when I bought it. I was doubtful that it could keep my insulin sufficiently cool for 48 hours.I took this wallet with us on our vacation to keep my insulin cool. The weather reached 100 degrees everyday. My insulin stayed cool and effective for the entire time. I even forgot to recharge it one day and the wallet kept my insulin cool for 72 hours! I would definitely recommend this to other diabetics. It uses an evaporative cooling system to keep the insulin cool so if you place it in your purse, it does make things somewhat soggy.
