Reptiles are creepy, my Python tank cleaner ROCKS!!

OMG! Okay, I am SO happy I finally decided I'm better than the buckets and back strain and water all over the floor! This thing is awesome!!!! I did make the mistake of buying the Aqueon cleaner from Petsmart at first but this Python cleaner is everything I was hoping it would be. It attaches to the kitchen sink in less than 60 seconds, it takes 2 seconds to switch it from cleaning to filling and everything feels secure and solid. There was a moment where I felt slack in the hose while I was cleaning and I was convinced a tube slipped out somewhere like it always would with the Aqueon cleaner, but nope! The unit is so solid that even though the on/off part of the hose got caught on the outside of the tank it just popped over the top of the tank and all was well! Great price, totally solid product, totally user friendly and not over-complicated! 5 fins up! Glub Glub!
Fantastic. Price is a bit high, but it works great and is a must for larger tanks.

I haven't had it long, but it's made filling my 40 breeder(technically 45 gallons, Google it) and 29 gallon tanks easy. I don't use it for my smaller tanks because it empties them too quick and fills too quick. I also keep shrimp in those and the water temp and parameters need to be prefect. So for those....buckets and a smaller siphon.

I have a single handle faucet to adjust both cold and hot. I had some issues getting it right the first few times...but you learn as you go(just like buckets). You really have to let it run for awhile. I turn it to max on hot then when it gets hot I back it off a lot and find the right temp. I had just mastered buckets when I got this.

Also it has threads on the inside and outside of the adapter. This saved me. I had to replace my kitchen faucet 2 weeks after getting this and was worried that it wouldn't be compatible with my new Moen faucet. I was happy to see you could remove the second O-ring and use it with outside threads.

Something to keep in mind...if you live where it can get really hot(like me, gulf coast of Texas) it can be impossible to get a cool enough temp mid day in the summer. Sometimes you can't get below 90f mid day. You will need to plan water changes around the time of day and weather. It really annoyed me because it affected my first water change, but I learned that doing it at night or early in the morning gets rid of this issue.

I recommend this. I just got into the hobby 3 months ago and this is a fantastic tool to have. Especially when you have tank fever like me. Makes things easy. I under stock my tanks majorly, so I only have to do changes every 2 weeks and even then...it's just to replace minerals in the water and make sure things are alright.

As you can see in the pic...I hang mine up next to my rack and it it's easily accessible for changes.

Not sure why my pic was rotated...but it was upright when I posted it.
5 stars or 1???

I wanted to give this 1 star so that those (like me) who read negative reviews looking for the potential problems would stumble on my glowing review amidst the negative ones and be set at ease. However, I couldn't even fake that I don't love this amazing product. After reading the reviews I was afraid of several things. I thought this may be really difficult to connect but I gave the product a shot. It connected like a breeze to my Delta kitchen sink after I took the aerator off (took 1 minute). It helps that they now include a very sturdy metal connector instead of the old plastic one. I believe that your sink must have threads to work with this product, unless you rig something? A sprayer nozzle or showerhead pipe fixture may work as well if they have threads. It works with standard outside faucet hookups for hoses. The Python new metal attachment connector has BOTH male and female threading abilities for different sinks.
I am now doing the fastest imaginable water changes on my 55 and 15 gallon tanks. Flow can be adjusted by changing water pressure at the sink OR by partially closing the shut off valve near the suction end for emergencies. It now takes me 15 minutes to suction and replace water. I do 15-20% water changes 2 times per week as my tanks are still cycling. Unlike some others I have enough suction to easily suck the waste out of my (pool filter) sand without sucking too much (2tbsp) of it out with the waste. The suction tube is long enough to suction my 24" tall tank , but my arm has to go in the tank (minor detail). They sell longer suction tubes here, (24") if you don't want your arm in the water, for $12- $15. I was also concerned that having to run the faucet water to suction would be wasteful, but the whole suctioning process goes so fast, I don't feel guilty or poorer doing so, like some others on here. I actually look forward to doing water changes now! No more carrying buckets or getting tank water in my mouth from suck-starting the tube, has me so happy. One concern I am still watching is that the water can't be treated with Prime (dechlorinator/etc.) before it enters the tank unless I wanted to use a dreaded bucket. I have read from many others that they have used the Python for years, treating the water instead AFTER it enters their tank, with no ill effects that they have observed on the fish. I pour my capful of prime into the stream of water entering from the Python and after 5 water changes, no problems, even for the fish that like to play in the current of incoming water so hopefully that keeps not being a problem.
You do need to monitor the temp of incoming water in case of sudden changes from the tap. Also, do not leave the tube in tank unattended (to answer phone/break up a fight with the kids, etc.) without shutting the valve near the suction end. Otherwise it can start to suck the water out of your tank without the faucet even running. If you are on the fence because of the price, I would say its worth every penny.
Takes the back-breaking work out of water changes. THANK YOUUUU!!!!!!!!!

Okay. Wow. 30 some years ago I worked at a tropical fish store, and I would have KILLED to have this! Ha! We rescued a 15 cent feeder goldfish 5 or so years ago that is now 8" long and in a huge aquarium - all by itself. Lugging the 5 gal buckets of water back and forth was killing me. Nobody wanted to change the water because it was such a bloody chore.
This thing makes changing the water an absolute adventure! And a good one, at that. I'm not kidding. It's so easy the kids can do it, and we don't all moan when it comes time to do it.
Our kit came with the brass adapter which was very much appreciated. I can see why they opted to do that - a very smart move.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Python! You saved my back! ...and my floor...and my carpet...and my kids. ;o)
No complaints, perfect for my large tank.

If you have a medium to large aquarium (over 30 gallons) then get this. Stop reading comments, stop trying to see if it's worth it. Get it. Now. I'm totally serious. This little vacuum has changed my entire experience in dealing with my aquarium. I have a 55 gallon aquarium and what used to take me about an hour now takes me.. ehh.. maybe 20 min. No more trying to fight with the vacuum for suction.

Plus, when it's all done you just switch the little lever and the water flows right from your sink to your aquarium. It's super easy to setup and disassemble and luckily it fits all the way from my sink to the aquarium.

The only problem I have with this is I wish there were a mini version, or I had the courage to try this out on my 10 gallon, I'm just afraid that the suction will be too fast and I will pull half my tanks water away before I realize whats going on.
