Aaaaahhhh.
Hear that?!?
Silence!
The reviews sold me on this product but I was still skeptical"‹. This would be the fourth attempt to satisfy my needs and my ears.
I was currently using 2 Whispers and they were anything but whispering. Buzzing, humming, vibrating- they were driving me nuts! I was constantly rearranging the pumps the tubes or cords to stop the noise that was buzzing me to the sanitarium.
This pump is quiet and is more than adequate for a 2 inch stone and a 5 inch bubble bar in a standard 20 gallon. I had to use valves to reduce the output.

So quiet, you think that it isn't working!

I absolutely love this pump. I am running multiple aquariums with this, plus three, two gallon jars. I use my aquariums and jars for aquaponics, to be able to run everything from one pump is definitely making things easier. I was fortunate enough to get this in warehouse deals, one of my favorite Amazon departments!!!
Works well on a 36" bubble stick
Josh✓ Verified Purchase•April 16, 2017
Works well in my 75 gal tank running a 36 inch bubble stick! It is quiet enough & produces a lot of good size bubbles evenly down the large 36" bubbler. It has one air outlet so i used a spliter & ran a tube to each end of bubbler. This air pump was a little more expensive than most i looked at but it works well & puts out plenty of bubbles even on large bubble sticks in large tanks. I'm sure it would run a much larger bubble stick also. I also liked that the cord was long so it can be plugged in without an extension cord. Overall seems like a good air pump.
It okay, not as great as advertised though.

I purchased this product in April 2014, so I've had it for a while now. I have a 130G tank with 5-6 air stones. However, this pump only worked at full capacity for about one year, 18 months maximum. It currently still works but will only power 2 air stones, and not that well. I ended up have to hook up my old smaller air pumps to carry the load. It also became extremely loud, so I used some foam to sit under it to absorb the sound. I would recommend this item, but don't get your hopes expecting it to work for years. Oh yeah, the lifetime warranty is useless.
Aerates an IBC Tote with Food Grade tubing
R. D. Eldridge✓ Verified Purchase•April 19, 2016
I purchased this to aerate a 275 gallon IBC tote with food grade tubing. Each hole is it's own pump so both needs to be used, which is a waste - I'd rather if both pumps went into the same hole - but it works as is. I have the air pump under the tote, with the tubes running up the length, and then I have the tubes split so that 4 tubes run down through the drilled holes and into the bottom. The pressure is high enough that the air tubes are pushed up from the bottom, and unfortunately we can't use suction cups in our application, but we found a work around. It keeps the entire tank bubbling beautifully, and the air pump really is whisper quiet. The tank, on the other hand, is pretty loud bubbling which is fine for us. This is set up outside without any issue, but we have the tote set above the air pump so it's protected from rain.
We will purchase many more. It's just a shame that there are no larger pumps.
I use this along with:
Dynalon 610855-03 PVC Food Grade Vinyl Tubing, 3/16" ID 5/16" OD
Which fits. It's not a snug fit, but it's food grade and it works. Other sized tubes won't fit.
