I was not able to find this in any of our local stores. Product was fresh, not expired, and tastes delicious! I use the whole grain in a 5 grain oatmeal I make as a copy cat recipe from Pret a Manager.

Not a whole lot of flavor and very tiny grains but good for mixing in with other things for added nutrition. I mix with my oatmeal and quinoia.
I love it so much I ordered four more pack

Pops well in frying pan

Good whole amaranth, it popped nicely in the frying pan. I used it for Alton Brown's amaranth wafers recipe, which was delicious!
Nice texture when added to oatmeal. Packaging is good as well.

Wasn't sure if I was going to like this, as it's the first time I've tried Amaranth. So far I've eaten it in Bob's Red Mill Organic Oats Rolled Thick, 16 Ounce (Pack of 4). I cook it first (along with diced apple or pear and cinnamon) for at least 10 minutes before adding the oatmeal. It is still firm and adds some more texture to the oatmeal. I like the material they used for the packaging, like a soft plastic/paper. The bag seal works well also.
