Our SIX "kids" are all middle aged and strictly indoor cats. But WE are getting older and cleaning the floors behind the traditional litter boxes is becoming more paniful with the passing years. WE call the PETMATE BOODA DOME , simply "the igloo" which I'm certain is a tradmarked term. Anyways , it gets only 3 stars because WE have now relegated our TWO fairly new "igloos" to storage. We are not certain why the "igloos" didn't work out but our theory is that our middle aged cats couldn't get used to the dark confinement of the plastic dome. On occasion I would observe one cat timidely sniff and then cautiously enter the"igloo" but then another cat would sniff and loiter close by the enterance to the occupied "igloo" which caused occupant No. 1 to bolt out of the "igloo" in a panic. We have another dome shaped litter box that has a translucent dome cover ( from which occupants can see who is approaching ) and we find that that litter box gets a 5 star rating by our furry constituents. Perhaps if YOUR "children" are introduced to the "igloo" early enough in life , you may have better luck.
No more Doggie Snack Bar!!
Butterfly✓ Verified Purchase•March 29, 2017
My cats love it. I love it. My most important deal is the dogs not longer consider the cat box their personal snack bar. I have a very large Maine Coon cat and he has no issues with using it and my smaller 2 ladies are also happy to have the privacy. I use the top filter, but as I use feline pine litter, I don't bother with a liner. I bought a second one because I liked the first so much. No more dog death breath ~ from cat poop at least. I'm thrilled.
cheap. cheap. cheap.

I bought this litter box because I was so tired of constantly sweeping up cat litter all over my floor. I will say that this box does achieve its purpose of keeping the litter in the box (mostly) and is aesthetically to the eye. but it is so flappy and impossible to use that it can't even function correctly. The top dome, although spacious, is so cheap and so thin, that you can forget about ever picking this thing up by the not so useful handle, and the shape of the top morphs so much while trying to use that it doesn't even attach correctly to the bottom half, its almost as if the top is too big to fit the bottom (as seen in the pictures) and it takes about 5 minutes just to even attempt to get the lid on. Even with the spacious top, due to the steps, the space for the actual litter is so small that I'm surprised a cat can even fit inside. There is also almost no way to attach a bag for easy clean up. Not to mention, even though this might not be the products fault, my cat is so afraid of this cheap thing she wont even be in the same room as it. Absolutely the worst 30 bucks I have ever spent. Most defiantly wouldn't recommend.
Nice and BIG
Que✓ Verified Purchase•September 8, 2016
Way bigger than I expected! When I first saw it I regretted buying it because of the size. However, my cat does love it so that's all that matters. I ordered the color Titanium just because it was cheaper and luckily the color is much nicer in person! It's basically a beige color.
The stairs do catch most of the excess litter, but not completely. Also I wish the lid actually snapped in place; it just sits on top, so if you have a dog that you are trying to keep out of the litter box, they might still be able to knock the top off.

No More Turd Burgling!
Breghan✓ Verified Purchase•September 2, 2016
I love this so much! My 22lb chihuahua terrier mix can no longer turd burgle! I attached a picture of my dog (and bonus Pokemon) so you can see how big he is. This is the main reason why I purchased this for my cat. Speaking of her, she acclimated to it immediately even though she was used to uncovered boxes. As an added bonus, the stairs are textured and have caught so much spare litter. My laundry room used to be COVERED in litter and even though I swept often, it seemed like a losing battle. I'm not sure if it's a lack of gravel turds leaving the box or that the cat is no longer bringing a ton of litter on her long haired feet, but litter scatter has decreased by like 80%. Buy this.
