I like the extra space this provides but it slides off too easily, especially when bumped.

Great for conductors and string players, of course, and also for mallet percussionists.
(If you use it on a stand with sliding "wing" extenders, you'll probably have to get out a saw and lop off an inch or two of the shelf.)
