I use these NTE Ge transistors to replace tin whisker shorted out OC170/AF126 transistors in vintage transistor audio equipment and they work perfectly. The package is a bit different so I have to move the pins around a bit to get them to fit into the sockets as this equipment uses sockets for the transistors but then it fit. The only con I can see is that the price is a bit steep and these are either new or unused nos transistors and are still worth the price. So if you need to replaced your tin whisker shorted Ge transistors these should work as long as your replacing OC170/AF117/AF126 transistors and maybe others but not 100% sure about that.
