Time proven design. Weaver's superb quality engineering and manufacturing for this "moderately" priced scope ring makes it my go-to choice for just about all my scope mounting needs.
I have been using Weavers Top Mount rings for many years. I use them almost exclusively for mounting red-dot sights (Ultra Dots and older Aimpoints) on my target pistols. I also use them to mount scopes on magnum revolvers, rimfire rifles, and centerfire rifles. This particular set was used for a 4-16x scope on an AR-15 24" heavy barreled varmint upper. It was mated with a Weaver riser mount. Great fit for the height needed for proper cheek rest and eye/scope alignment.
Weavers are light weight, slim, and unobtrusive. The light weight really helps with my slide mounted pistols. The slim design just make my guns look good. I like the clean lines. I also really like the ability to take off a scope and having it return to near perfect zero when remounted. Last but not least, they are secure.
They are still made in the USA.
