The lamp is plugged in and works. For now.

I took off 1 star because the lamps clear panel is cracked as shown in the picture provide.

I took off 1/2 a star for the box being open already when I opened the package from amazon.

I rounded down because im still mad about the crack.
Great UVB light for my Dragons

My Bearded Dragon tanks look brighter now that we switched from spot uvb to strip uvb lighting after I was informed that strip uvb is better. Dragons don't seem to care about the lighting change but I am happier for them.
Lasts long, great quality.

Great quality as usual. No problems as bright as ever. these are the best lights, long lasting and a value for the money for the UV lights that reptiles need if you have limited natural sunlight. No need to spend a fortune on other products i have seen. My Iguana is 2 years old, 3 1/2 ft long and very healthy.
Months have passed and still going strong

I bought this light for my blue tongue skink's bio-active enclosure. Though my blue tongue skink does not come out and bask (he is a rare boy that just doesn't like to be out of his hide very often) but this light has held strong for months now. I have this and a plant light on my enclosure (this one I took the plastic guard off the light fixture part so there is no obstruction with the UVB and because its in a blue tongue skink enclosure I have it UNDER the lid) and I have plants growing nicely in it. The photo is with both lights on, no flash. this is a 42x18x20 I think enclosure I custom built and you can see the spread of light is nice with 2 fixtures (the spread from the light on the left back is this particular light fixture) I bought extra bulbs but have not had to use them yet. I DO supplement D3 just in case my boy doesn't get enough with the aging bulb and because he doesn't bask. I recommend this light for anyone that has a reptile needing UVB.
broke in two years

It's ok. Worked for two years before dying. I did replace the bulb...the fixture itself broken. Going to see if they'll replace it and may revise my rating up from 3 stars. Otherwise a decent product.
And yes, it does transmit UV. Only glass or expensive plastic can block UV. This product obviously doesn't use special UV blocking plastic!!!
