Not blue hue like I wanted for turtles eyes
GooGooDolphins✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 29, 2023
Bulb is on the left in photo. It is almost white. It has a very very very slight lavendar hue next to my regular white basking bulb. Not enough blue to downplay the bright light to be gentle on our 15 year old turtles eyes. Will likely go back to previous brand after this bulb.

**Will update after about a month of use to let people know how bulb worked out.

***one week of use 9/14/18:
Bulb isn't quite as bright. It turned a little more lavendar after a couple of days. So good for turtles eyes, but I'm not sure if the uvb is fading too along with the brightness?

***one month of use 10/11/18:
It is still working. Haven't had any problems.
Longer and brighter than expected but still working and seems to do the job.

Bought it about a month ago...so far so good ... very very very bright...the reptiles seem to notice the difference between this and and no light ither than thier surroundings(regular room lighting) and they're doing well...brightly colored no signs or symptoms of lack if sunlight so presumably these are legit and working well. They do just look like small unusually bright coiled household bulbs. They're a little longer than the small fixture they're in...a little longer than the original bulbs that came in that small fixture. Its unpelasinf aesthecially but it does the job.

So sad that it stopped working suddenly! It was working fine then just stopped. The sellers were able to make it right. They stand behind their product!

UPDATE AT BOTTOM.. COMPANY MADE IT RIGHT!

If i didn't need this light at that very moment for a rescue tortoise i just took in, i would have sent it back. Since it worked and i needed it asap, i just kept it. You can def see the discoloration on the top. It was already that brownish tan color right out the box.

COMPANY REACHED OUT TO ME AND SENT ME A NEW ONE! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Fits window, and there are still areas that allows sun in

There are no strings or velcro to hold loose up where there are sun holes
