I received my trimmer from Focus Camera, which they assured me this was a recent model and it was. Once I opened the box I found out, It had an inspection date on the back of cutter. I contacted Rotatrim before buying and they confirmed that older models had some issues with painted grid lines which they addressed. This machine cuts like a hot knife through butter
Cutting Grid Deteriorating

Bought this unit from Amazon on 2/1/13. Best cutter I have had but one problem. The measuring grid on the cutting board is flacking off a little at a time. The little black flacks get mixed in with my photography work. Because of this I will buy a new one. Has there been an improvement in the grid application in the last 2 years? Can I buy just the board without the cutting arm? I use this item every day. The paper guides on the cutting are very important in my work. The board grid would be ok if it were coated in some way.
