I went to the pet store and found that the 24 inch was too small and 28 inch was too big. If you look online, 26 is actually an unusual size with few options available. The product arrived with plastic gouged our and sharp edges everywhere. The compartments on top are also very flimsy. The plastic overall feels like cheap thin plastic. Someone commented the back latch doesn't work. I can see how they thought that, because pushing it in causes the plastic to deform and not latch. I needed to push from the inside as someone latched it from the outside so the plastic would be rigid enough for the latch to work. I am still keeping it because as stated before, this size is hard to find, and the defects do not affect the function of the product. I also want the product now and don't want to bother with the returns process. To the sellers credit, returns are free. For the size, the price is not bad compared to other similar items of the same size. However, Walmart had a 26 inch one of similar price also that I thought was very low quality (this one turns out to be equally low quality). If I were to do it again, I would go to Walmart so I can have the chance to pick out the best condition one.

We needed a replacement dog kennel for our special, neurotic, Corgi who is terrified of riding in vehicles unless he is in his kennel safe space. Our previous kennel was purchased from a local pet store, the plastic latches broke so we had it duct taped together. We decided our little stubby Corgi was in need of an upgraded safe space. This was cheaper than the one we purchased from the local pet store, but a better quality. We expected the same quality. The big difference is metal bolt reinforcements where the top and bottom pieces meet which means we aren't relying on the plastic latches to hold it together. Happy, neurotic, mellow dramatic, drama queen, Corgi, means happy doggy parents.

I bought one almost exactly like this years ago, but I recently needed one for each of two cats, thus had to buy this one. This is definitely a one-cat carrier, but I like that it's small without totally confining them to one position. The big selling point for me on these carriers is that you can fit them inside one another and use the one with the latches to secure the two pieces together, with the gate piece in between. That way I can throw them up on the garage shelf when I don't need them without it taking up all of the space that the assembled version would need. Very easy to snap together, secure enough that you don't have to worry about transporting them, and easy to take apart and store.

I ship cats and kittens all the time - from one end of the country to the other. This is a quality product that I have used in the past. If you want to use it for shipping Air Cargo - you have to put plastic tie warps on each latch - and there are already predrilled holes for them. The plastic latches are sturdy but cannot be trusted for shipping - sometimes they don't close all the way and with the vibrations of the flight and transporting them, they work lose and the two parts of the crate can separate, spilling the animal unsafely out of the crate. I wish the manufacturer would have also supplied a tight fitting water dish that would attach to the door. The ones available do not fit this crate very well - and sometimes I have to drill holes in the cups and attach them to the door with tie wraps so they don't fall off in flight. This size is good for an adult cat, or two kittens under 5 months of age. Check the handle too - sometimes they are not all the way inserted into the crate - and may fall off when you pick up the crate with a cat or small dog inside. These crates last forever - made well, and the metal grate is non-corrosive and stays nice and bright.Easy to wash with a hose and some detergent. The price is very reasonable too - compared to pet store pricing on similar sized crates.

I really wish there was better dimensions or specifications. I just got a kitten and I was buying supplies when I saw this. I fell in love with the color and was so excited to get this item . It said for 10 lbs so I figured it would be perfect. When o received it I couldn't believe how small it was. Clearly this is not workable for a cat. It really only seems good for t cup dogs or rabbits or ferrets. My kitten was crammed in it! They should really specify good for cats or certain size dogs in the listing. What's even worse is when I wanted to exchange for a larger size I saw it only comes in this size for this color! I'm very disappointed. It would have been perfect if it came in a larger size!
