Brer Rabbit is one of the premiere brands of blackstrap molasses. It is said to have medicinal healing powers, including returning gray hair back to it's original color. Not much else you can say about it. It makes great molasses cookies.

Please note: I am referring only to the "Purple" edged labeled Brer Rabbit Molasses. This product has kept me from having to have knee surgery.....so far. As for my dog Sadie, in October of 2011, she went down and refused to get up.....so much pain. I tried bribing Vets in the area to please make a house call as I couldn't move her myself. They basically said she would probably have to be "Put Down". Desperate, I & wife began researching old remedies and luckily she found out that cooked down molasses, black strap, is good for aches & pains.....BINGO!!!! We mixed 1 tsp Syrup with 1 Tbsp peanut butter and took it to Sadie about dark time. The next morning frisky Sadie was on the front porch eager for her breakfast......simply a God given miracle!!!! It's now mid February 2013 and Sadie is still frisky @ age 12! Since the initial episode, she has had one relapse.....our fault! We were lax in giving her the molasses. We now religiously give her a dose every two weeks...... and weekly when it's going to be real cold. As for me, my football knee no longer forecasts the weather as long as I take a sip of the syrup at least every other day......another miracle!!!!
Note: I order "Brer Rabbit Blackstrap Molasses" from Amazon because stores in my area do not carry it for some reason. Probably because it ain't that great on buscuits. Anyway, a six bottle carton doesn't occupy much storage space.

I take a tbsp. every morning for my health. i just wish the lid was sealed when I bought it.

I have tased a variety of molasses brands over the years , and Brer Rabit is definitely the best . I use it to make BBQ sauce and baked beans. For gingerbread cookies and other dishes, I prefer the Dark version of Brer Rabbit , rather then the Bladkstrap . My dog also loves Blackstrap Brer Rabbit molasses. The only way she will eat dry dog food is if it has 1 tablespoon of molasses stirred in.

This is great molasses but before I purchase anymore bottles there must be seals on the caps.
