I saw all of the reviews of this product prior to purchasing this product. I was brand new when I decided to go ahead with the purchase since I wanted a simple kit that would have everything that is needed.

There are a few issues that are listed in multiple reviews that I found to be true such as the materials being of low quality, and there is some set up before just dumping this bag into your trunk. I have since purchased other components of recovery gear and this will only be used when I really don't have anything else.
Nice kit

Nice kit, heavy duty brackets and chain. Nice bag and gloves. My kit was missing a 1/2 nut. The tree saver strap is really to light to be safe IMHO. The chain and hooks would cost you $30, the two custom made brackets more than $30, so all together it's a good deal.
Is there better chain and hooks than the stuff provided
Theresa GunlockAugust 14, 2017
The bag is large enough to put wrenches and other tools into it in addition to what is in the kit. Is it worth the money? I'd say it isn't really, except if you want the winching accessory pieces you are forced to buy it all. Is there better chain and hooks than the stuff provided? Absolutely. But can you buy the parts for making it a winch/jack by themselves, no.
Good Idea Cheaply Executed

I personally would not recommend this to anyone who actually wants to USE it, as opposed to just being Expo-Cool. One of the chains is not visibly rated - 3/8" chrome plated chain of unknown strength, the other is grade 43 (5400#) which is OK but physically heavy and overmatched for a 4660# published jack rating. Would be lighter to have grade 70 5/16" (4700# SWL) or even 3/8# grade 80 to more closely match the full capacity of a Hi-lift (7100# chain - vs - 7000# jack). The strap is thin single thickness web with un-reinforced ends so is easily damaged and only rated at 5000# The shackle is undersized physically for the webbing strap width and would be better as a 5/8" clevis to both accommodate the webbing and so a high strength 5/8"³ x 4"³ T handle Hitch Pin could be used which would be better in mud and sand / easier than fiddling with a threaded pin. No spare nuts were provided, some were thin NyLock style and impossible to apply/remove without tools for things that require frequent removal/replacement. None of the bolts were the correct length as the threaded area was placed in a load bearing location instead of having the shaft bear the load and a much shorter threaded portion. Similarly, all would be better as grade 8 components. The 2-piece welded flat bar design of the over-the-jack-tongue piece is suspect and the supplied 3/8" grade 5 bolt totally inadequate. In its first test use dragging a small SUV in Park on a loose gravel surface the fitting slid despite the locating bolt (which was irrevocably bent). Again this should be a grade 8 bolt, of a more appropriate length, and 7/16" or possibly 1/2" if the tongue hole allows it. The actual fitting should be a single bent piece and flat so the load is carried by a flat surface not on the tiny contact points between the two angled pieces and the edges of the tongue. The sliding sleeve is well constructed for the most part but uses only 1/4" tabs to locate the short chain - again with the threaded portion of the bolt in shear. Because of the design of the system the short chain is used to allow for the 30 degree angle of the jack shaft and the tow chain (when fully jacked in) to be bridged so the jack can be let out. This results in the loss of about 18" of the about 4' of distance gained during a single winching evolution to be lost (I used a 60" jack). A second set of tabs positioned on the same side to allow a (not supplied) very short locating chain and loop (that the tow chain passes through) would keep this angle to under 10 degrees and improve the distance achieved per evolution as well as making the entire assembly more stable under load. The bag is barely adequate durability wise for carrying sharp edged and heavy metal pieces, and a 20' length of chain with a slip hook on one end and a chain hook on the other should also be part of the kit as it is useless otherwise (unless the owner already has such a chain in his vehicle). Volume wise it is ok and will hold the additional chain, but thicker/wider handles to ease the pressure on bare hands when carrying would be a good idea. Heavy duty laminated usage and assemble instructions would be a VERY good idea - especially if it is a rarely used piece of kit. OVERALL - a nice idea that looks like its assembly was contracted out to the lowest bidder and cheap components substituted whenever possible. Was more like a Harbor Freight than an ARB product.
Ah so so ...

Chinese and Indian components.

I purchased this kit, like most here, for the winch tensioner and nose piece that unfortunately can't be found separately.

See the images showing the contents are from China and India. Ironically, when I called Hi-Lift about a jack I purchased and thought it was theirs, but turned out to be Reese and Chinese made, I immediately considered returning the jack and purchasing an American-made Hi-Lift. Go USA! I hadn't realized the Reese was a knock off of their product. The rep I spoke with talked about Chinese junk and we both talked about how great it was to be talking to an American rep in my own country and dialect. We spoke of American jobs, a subject near and dear to us both.

I then received my genuine USA Hi-Lift Jack ORK Off-Road Kit ... predominately, if not entirely, made in China.
