Especially because it is way over priced,I will not buy it again. I wanted to try it because I remember drinking it when I was a kid. I can't say I remember the taste that much, but I think I liked it because I was drinking "coffee". Only the "grown ups drank coffee" so I imagined I was more mature because I had my cup of "coffee".
This does not resemble coffee at all, in my opinion. It is okay but if it is a substitute for coffee it's missing the mark. I suppose I'm not a good judge because I don't really remember the taste yet I think there was more flavor, this Postum is very bland in my opinion. Best bet is to spring for a jar and see what you think.

Too expensive, but I love this stuff. I am a Latter Day Saint and we do not drink coffee due to following the Word of Wisdom, a document that helps us to rid all addictive substances from our lives. I have never been a coffee drinker, but love the smooth smokey taste of this drink. My daughter and I have been making Frappuccinos with Postum and love it. Flat teaspoon of Postum, caramel/vanilla creamer, ice and blend...YUMMY.

Labeling discrepancy. I ordered from this listing on Amazon, which presently says sold by Eliza's Quest foods (the manufacturer). The jar of postum shown in the listing photographs as of today says: (ingredients) WHEAT, WHEAT BRAN, MOLASSES, WHEAT FLOUR. The jar that I was sent has a label that says: ROASTED WHEAT BRAN, MOLASSES, WHEAT.

HOWEVER, there is a white sticker that's been stuck to the top of the jar lid that says: "CONTAINS SOY LECITHIN"

I have contacted Eliza's Quest foods via their web site and by phone but have had no reply about this. I will update my review when I get an answer about the true ingredients of this product. The clear plastic safey seal around the cover is also dirty, with bits of debris trapped underneath the plastic. Not clean. Not a good purchase. Vague ingredients information. Not feeling safe about consuming this product.

Suggest those affected by SOY ingredients be careful with this item.

Besides hot chocolate, Postum was the only hot drink I liked. My heart broke when I found out it had been discontinued. I was lying in the hospital and my sister in law was talking to me. I told her I was craving possum.
she said she would order some for me. I told her it had been discontinued but she insisted she had seen it on amazon. A month later when I got home from the hospital, I ordered 10 jars. I love just sit and relax with a warm cup of Possum and it is all done without any caffine side effects. I"m so glad it is back.

Mom still lovesher Possum so is thrilled its been brought back.. But says it's not quite as good as the old product. It leaves more sediment in the bottom of the cup and despite what they say about the same recipe and it just looking different, it does seem to taste slightly different as well as the sediment it leaves. Not as rich a color or flavor.
