I purchased the 17' Little Giant ladder so I could replace the lights in my 18' cathedral ceiling. The price of this ladder is more than I could have imagined spending for a ladder, but based on estimates in my area, it's currently a lower cost option than hiring an electrician to do the same job. The 17' ladder is heavy, but I was still able to put it up and then back down on my own; certainly it would have been easier with help. I had wondered if the extended height of the ladder would be slightly less than 17', but it wasn't. I found the ladder to be very sturdy, and felt it was safe working on the ladder at its fully extended length.

I needed to repair a delaminated seam in the ceiling of my living room, and needed a study step ladder to reach it. I contemplated paying someone to do the repair for me, but couldn't find anyone willing to take this on. I knew the repair itself was not that difficult, but needed a way to get up there. Other than renting scaffolding, I found this Little Giant ladder (the 17' version), that would work. It's not a lightweight - it's about 80 pounds I think - but it works well. I finished the repair yesterday, and the ladder performed flawlessly. it's sturdy and the fact that you can use both sides of the ladder was a plus.

First of all the ladder is fantastic!!! It is not as heavy as I thought it was going to be, I'm 5'3'' and about 145lbs and I was able to carry the ladder from where the deliverers left the ladder too the back yard with really no problem. The only thing I have to do if figure where the center of mass is so as to carry it comfortable and it won't fall from my grips. the ladder itself feels very sturdy and when I was climbing the total length of the ladder (17 feet) I never felt scared or even worried if the ladder would carry me. It is built with a lot of quality material. I wish I had purchased this a long time ago.
