Super easy to use, very clean and simple. Brilliant product. I plan to add these to our business locations as well as the house and vehicles. Why wouldn't you want to protect loved ones, employees, friends or even a stranger in need of help.

Great Unit, But Better Hope It Doesn't Need Warranty Service

My wife and I thought that having a defibrillator at home would be a smart idea, as she's in her 60s and I'm in my 70s. When we received it, we went through the activation process then put it away in a linen closet. After about two months, it began chirping. A self-test indicated that the pads were unusable and needed to be replaced.

I called Philips "warranty support" and spoke to a man named Josh, who said that the only way the pads could have become unusable was if the cartridge containing them had been opened. He said they are occasionally open from the factory, but if that had been the case they would have failed sooner than the eight weeks that we'd had the unit.

Now, my wife and I may be old, but we're far from senile and we KNOW we never touched that cartridge. But Josh very aggressively insisted that we had to have done, robotically repeating "the pads were opened" and refusing a warranty replacement. We KNOW the pads were opened, but we also know we didn't open them.

After spending roughly $1200 for the unit, we didn't expect that eight weeks later we'd be spending another $57 for the privilege of having it function correctly. We also didn't expect to be rudely brushed off when requesting warranty service. I would still recommend that everyone have one of these in their home, but pray you don't need warranty service -- you won't get it.
