Okay, our squirrels must be pretty smart! I put this up on the included pole. After weeks of unsuccessfully trying to get at some of the seed and having to scavenge the ground, one squirrel figured out how to brace himself with one hind foot on the pole, the other hind foot on the perch bar, and hang on the the feeder's platform edge with the forepaws... He slightly pushes himself up with his lower hind leg and then gobbles seed from the platform! LOLOLOL! Very entertaining... but I bought this so that no squirrels could get at the birdseed. My sister-in-law's parents were over for the 4th of July... I told them my dilemma, they saw it in action, and the mom told me to rub petroleum jelly all over the pole. Sure enough! That cheap fix has made this bird feeder 100% squirrel-proof! And it's fun to see a squirrel try to climb the pole, only to slide slowly right down!
The feeder really does keep other bid birds away from the seed. It's very easy to fill and is built really well. Definitely worth the price.

This recent purchase is to replace the very same product that we purchased some seventeen years ago. The original feeder withstood squirrels and weather conditions for those many years but sustained damage when a line it was suspended from snapped as a result of straight-line winds. Our recent purchase is a direct result of the excellent performance of the original feeder.

Bought this after using the original for many years trouble free.
This one is flimsy, clasp is thin & cannot be shaped properly, powder coat is peeling off after only 2 months

Great product but a bit heavy for the pole. It will keep squirrels from stealing all your seed. It's definitely only squirrel resistant, but better than what I had before. I did have to set the perches for heavier birds because if you get 6-8 on a side their weight will close things off. But that still works out well.

If you have problems with squirrels eating your bird food than this is what you need. With my other bird feeder the birds only got about 1/4 of the seed I put out. With the Woodlink Absolute II its fun to watch the squirrels try to figure out how to get the seed out of the house. They're persistent but unsuccessful. Now I can feed the birds and not the squirrels.

I've had this bird feeder for over six years now and it still looks great. I keep it outside all year long, so it's seen plenty of abuse from mother nature.

I would gladly recommend this to anyone looking for a squirrel proof bird feeder.
