I bought this roll after running out of my Radio Shack stuff. I've been missing out! This stuff is awesome and flows significantly better than what I was using. I will say that for the price it is a great value. I've been doing quite a few projects and don't even think I've put a dent in the 1lb roll. The diameter works great for the smaller projects I've been working on (small PCBs, etc.)

An entire pound of high quality solder. Purchased a solder reel at the same time, match made in heaven. Soldering plenty of small electronics with this. Don't forget to pick up a solder sucker, tip tinner, and/or flux while you're at it. This is some good solder, love working with it so far. I've been able to solder from 28 gauge to 0 gauge wire with it. It'll do whatever you need for 99% of most projects. Kester makes some of the best solder (even the US military uses it).

This is the best quality solder I have ever used! It really is amazing what a difference it can make to your soldering. Oh and yes, this has lead in it, WHICH IS A GOOD THING!! You will be just fine using this stuff, just probably shouldn't eat it but you'll be fine. The quality flux inside makes a world of difference as well, I rarely need to reach for my flux pen anymore. And this diam is the perfect general purpose size for most wires from 10-30 AWG and for any through-hole electronic components as well as even for SMD components. Great stuff, you won't be disappointed.

I believe Kester is a great company that have been making solder for decades. I have always used Kester, ever since I was in high school (which was decades ago). I have never used lead-free solder before, and I don't plan on using it.
This one is pretty thin, thin enough to use for standard thru-hole PCB projects.
I would definitely buy Kester again (as long as it's the regular lead solder).
