Everything I have come to know and expect from the Starrett name. If it says Starrett its machinist quality to say the least. There is an old saying about buying tools - Buy quality and cry once, Buy cheap and cry twice.
Bought this punch to add to our new drill press table in the shop and was glad to see that it is the exact same as the ones I have had for 15+ years. Quality never goes out of style!

Great for pounding starter indentations, for drilling holes in metal shed. No issues.

Very nice, hard center punch. Used it to put a dimple in a hardened both before left hand drilling and using an extractor. Great addition to the tool chest.

Use this to punch a divot into 18 gauge stainless steel kitchen sink. Worked great. I had to pound it with good force, since stainless is very hard. The bit i used afterwards dig really well into the divot made. Definitely worth the money.
The construction is very heavy duty. It feels heavy in your hand, for such a small tool. The rubber grip helps a lot to keep it steady when hammering away.
