It actually works
Palmer•January 28, 2018
It does remove the chlorine as we have high concentrations here in the new subdivisions when we haven't any rain. You do have to be mindful to put the thing in and let it do its thing for 5-10 mins then remove it from the bath water. The smell is out of the water and my skin is softer. I also bought the de-chlorinator for the shower and it actually works as well.

Use this to prevent skin reactions caused by chlorine in tap water because it's cheaper than the medicine I'd need for my chlorine allergy. Often use it without the cover when the bath water is less than 6" deep.
Love this product.

Wonderful product if you don't have a home water filter

Wonderful product if you don't have a home water filter. Removes chlorine which is a toxic chemical and can affect thyroids.
Seems to work fine. This is my second one
J Beadles•June 15, 2016
Seems to work fine. This is my second one. My first one I had for probably 2 or 3 years, but towards the end it was deteriorating and little black metallic flakes were coming out. I noticed in instructions for this one (which I finally read, I guess, or had forgotten before?) that we're to remove it from tub before adding other products to the water. My habit with the previous one was to leave it in there while I added baking soda, or epson salts (or both), etc. in the water. It may be that those types of products hastened the demise of my older crystal ball bathtub dechlorinator. And yes, it does have tiny pieces of clear/white quarts in it, as well as the metal "fabric" (kind of like a super super fine "Brillo" type pad mixed with something that looks like steel wool (I don't think it's steel though - seems like the website discussed in general terms what metal combinations were used.), about the texture of 000 or 0000 super fine steel wool. Then it's all in a cloth like or heavy paper cloth like fabric, and then that's inside a bag of netting. I took my original one out of the round plastic "ball" thing (maybe it's supposed to help it "float" but the constant banging on the side of the tub makes an annoying sound for me.). So we'll see how long this one lasts.
