Great for ASD kiddo

We bought this for my son with fine motor problems because he is doing online schooling now instead of brick and mortar. This has been so great for him. Drag and drop has always been a struggle so much so that I end up having to sit and do it for him. With this mouse he can do all of his work independently. I'm so beyond impressed with the mouse, the quality and the accessibility it offers. Thank you!
Easy setup!

First thoughts:
So it took my 5yo son two seconds to start using it. I asked him what he thought and he said he likes it.

The only thing is it does take him some "reaching" in order to click.
So he uses two hands.

Will follow up later....

so far it still works.
When I use it, I feel its a bit taxing to press the buttons.
I may switch to a different trackball soon. It becomes difficult to use. Still, its great for beginning (small) children because of the large yellow ball.

Buy it for your small child. Then ebay it.

Thank goodness that Ablenet makes this trackball mouse because no other manufacturer seems to make a comparable product. My adult brother has physical disabilities that leaves him with trouble with his fine motor control. Therefore, he cannot use the modern "swipe" pads or small trackball mice. The actual "Ball" must be large. This ball is about the size of a pool ball.

Pros:
1. Size of the ball
2. Weight of the ball
3. Locking right double click to drag objects without holding down the mouse key
4. Can be used with a PC or a Mac

Cons:
1. Not durable when used by individuals that can't tell how hard they are swiping the ball. Ball rolls on 3 plastic arches inside of the mouse. If the ball gets pounded on or dropped, game over.
2. Baby colors: High contrast would have been better for us: Black ball with white base and black buttons.
3. Needs a big scroll wheel (Maybe to the side of the ball?) so you can scroll down a webpage instead of using the up and down arrows on the keyboard.
4. Little bit clunky sounding when you use the buttons to click (needs to be a bit more responsive)
