Frustrating assembly but a sturdy stand once finished!

It does provide a stable way to store your bike. Some have complained it is not stable. You just have to remember, this is not made for storage outside in the wind. It does very well in a protected area! I agree with some others who have complained about difficulty in assembly. When you place the nut in the slot and start to screw in the bolt, the nut is somewhat "pinched" and moved out of correct alignment. This causes the bolt to not want to thread in a straight line and making it impossible to completely screw in the bolt. It takes MANY, MANY attempts to get the nut positioned properly so that the bolt with be completely screwed in. With patience, you can finally manage to get all the bolts screwed in completely. Just be ready for some difficulties. I did like the first one so much though that I did order a second one. The second assembly was not quite as bad bc I was prepared for the assembly difficulties...which again...did occur a second time.
Goes with me everywhere

I bought this stand as an addition to my original stand, which is 15 years old and still going strong. I have multiple bikes, so I needed another one. Where my bike goes, so does this stand. I use this once my bike is off the car rack and I'm preparing to ride. I use it in my garage to keep my bike upright. This is versatile and adjustable to fit a wide range of tire sizes! I use with front or back wheels as well.
Excellent

Stable and works well.
Not perfect with 5 mins assembly time.

I was going to return the item but amazon dont have that cancel button specific for this order under 12hrs of ordering it. It took some time to get it delivered. It came in a package, it came with the base, washer, bolts and nuts. No instructions for dummies tho. I dont know why people complaining about assemblying them but it took me less than 5mins, all you need is a flathead or a phillip. Adjust the thickness as per your tire size and tighten it. I was just gunna try and return it but i end up just using them. Good for keeping your nice expensive bike indoor. Not perfect but a good buy.
A practical storage option if the concept doesn't scare you

A stand that uses the spokes of the rear wheel for support will always be somewhat of a compromise. But this one works.

I use this stand for my heavy winter bike: a Lemond Zurich outfitted with fenders and lights and lots of spares. My wheels are the heavy duty touring variety with an embarrassing number of spokes. They come in handy here. I've got the stand's support arms as close together as possible while permitting my rear wheel to slide in vertically. When I remove my hand, the bike gently rests on one side's spokes or the other. I've scrutinized the amount of pressure on the spokes very carefully and even though I don't like the idea of the bike's weight against the spokes this way, the reality is they can take the pressure just fine.

This stand is real-world practical. You can assemble it in ten minutes. It's a snap to drop in the rear wheel, and then you're free to drag the bike around the floor if necessary, the front wheel rolling and the low-friction stand sliding over the floor's surface (without scratching).

As I said it's a compromise design but it works very well in real life.
