Best basketball ever, until it gets stolen...
Brian in The Tuke✓ Verified Purchase•April 2, 2018
Best basketball there is... And everyone knows it, so make sure you write the owner's name all over it, in huge letters, with a phone number. My son's name was on it, but fairly small, and didn't seem to matter. It was stolen during a basketball game (probably from a disgruntled member of the team we beat). They should put a GPS tracking device in these things, or module like a "Tile" or "Cube" inside, so that you can activate it and make it start beeping loudly. I'd pay another $10-20 to have that (and I would appreciate some royalties from Wilson when they do it). :-)
Great ball... just keep your eyes on it at all times!

Worth every penny

For those hesitant to spend more than $25-30 on a basketball (as I was before I purchased this), I promise it's worth every penny and a much better value than a cheaper ball. I spent $50 on this and am still using it 15 months later.
Really great all-around ball, have had it and used it almost daily (daily for the past six months) indoors since August of 2016. The grip is no longer good for dribbling so I decided it was time to try the Wilson Solution and retire this one, at least for daily use. What's impressive about how it's held up is that, while the grip is no longer there for dribbling, it still works very well for shooting and your fingers don't get burned from shooting it, even when I have shooting sessions approaching two hours. It also still holds air nearly as long as it did when I first bought it. Normally I toss my ball when I get a new one but this one will definitely stay with me for a while. While I've heard and read testimony that the Solution is a slightly better ball, really the only reason for the change is that the Solution (typically $70) was only $50 here on Amazon at the time of this review. I highly recommend the Evolution for indoor play, even daily.

This ball has traditionally been an excellent one. I've owned and played with several in the past. It is a ball that has a soft feel, which produces a good grip. It is the correct size and weight (believe it or not, not all basketballs are made to proper specifications). Recently, however, the balls have been manufactured differently, requiring full inflation for them to bounce much. That means the soft feel of the ball is compromised, which is a big disappointment to me. The one I bought from Amazon had to be returned because it did not bounce over my knees even when fully inflated. I replaced it with the same brand at a local sporting goods store, but I had to try out a few there to get one that bounced properly. Why there is so much inconsistency in the manufacturing is beyond me. My basketball group has four of these balls, and they are all a little different in weight and bounce. But the choices are few. This is the best ball that Wilson makes; cheaper ones are garbage. Spalding's high end balls used to be good, then became too light and too small for about 10 years. The most recent ball I've tried from that company was much better.
Best ball for indoor rec - but can get slippery.

Best ball for rec indoor basketball hands down.
I've played with an NBA ball, the TF-1000 and the evolution. Everyone prefers the evolution although I prefer the NBA ball when things get sweaty.
Reason being - When this ball gets wet, it gets wet. It will be slippery. You may want to get a towel to wipe it down if you have a few extra sweaty fellows.

Great ball, especially for the soft and comfortable leather feel.

If you are looking for that soft feel and comfortable indoor basketball, then this is perfect for you. I purchased a TF-1000 Spalding basketball Spalding TF-1000 Classic Indoor Basketball from a local sports vendor and I didn't like how "hard" the leather cover felt while shooting. It was the indoor version and was rated very well, but it just didn't have that nice FEEL to it. If you play basketball often, then you will know what I mean by that.
I purchased this ball because it is a ball I play with often at a local gym and I like the feel and comfort I get in my shot. I got exactly that same feel and comfort in this purchased product and I don't think you will be disappointed in this purchase. The ball becomes even more versatile and shooter friendly the more you play with it, so give it a couple weeks before you decide whether or not you love it.
