This item really does what it is intended to do. Wow, our steaks turn out so tender and we do not have to marinate 24 hours +, even then they did not come out as tender as when we used this product. Depending on the cut or meat you may not even need to marinate but we do for the flavor. But we also use this without maninate and it is great each time.
It tenderizes meat, it is washable-comes apart, and extremely easy to re-assemble by snapping back on. I contacted the customer care before purchasing and I was informed the parts are a lifetime free replacement. The customer service rep was knowledgeable on the product and made it effortless to get information on this product and compare others they offer.
Just dont over use this tenderizer on the meat (use as instructed) and you will have a great tasting and very tender cut of meat.

Did not work out of box...the blue slide to release was locked up...never worked. Bought before Christmas, but as a gift for birthday gift for wife in late January, so can't return. BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, BE CAREFUL OF POSITIVE REVIEWS....this is junk.

Worked fine out of the box. Used once and then took it apart to clean, and it never worked again. The tines are susceptible to the slightest pressure that drives them off line. Once that happens you may as well throw it away. Flimsy bent tips and mis-aligned blades that jam up.
The old version is MUCH MUCH better, even you have to more careful cleaning it.
Stay away from this version.

This product really works. I bought the Jaccard knife tenderizer a couple of years ago. I use it all the time, usually for rib eye steaks. This unit was for a friend, who needed a little help with tough steak!
