The double light keeps the area lit well, however, it does not lower with the backboard if you need to adjust the lamp angle or change bulbs. You have to take out the lower bolt and hold the heavy light pole from falling over and then hold it up while inserting bolt and nut. It is a difficult two man job.

This gives a great deal of light on the basketball goal. From a lighting perspective you will not be disappointed. This thing is a beast however when you are attaching to your pole. Definitely need 2 people to install. It does not sit square with the backboard - aesthetic problem, but not a functional one. Would recommend.

We got this for our kids for Christmas and had it put up by the next day!! The light on one side never worked from the time we unpacked it! We were disappointed because the kids were ready to put it up and play. We went ahead and put it up minus the one light. It is definitely plenty bright with the one but wish both would work. Pretty basic assembly but took three of us to put it up! Pretty heavy and uneven weight distribution. I had read others post about problems with the light was hoping this was something Goalrilla had taken care of but obviously not yet! Overall a really good light just wish all parts would work!!

We were so excited to get this and see how great it lights up the court at night! However after only a few uses the lights have needed to be replaced 3 x and fill with water. We are bummed because it is not an easy nor cheap replacement. We are very disappointed in the Goalrilla Deluxe Hoop Light and need to find something that can endure Mi weather as this has become such a regular pain in the butt.

I purchased this light kit 6 months ago and installed it on a Spalding 88860g hoop. I was able to install it with a 10' step ladder and the help of my wife on the ground (although difficult). The directions on how to elevate the light are vague. If you become confused on how to hoist the light.....consider doing the following. With the hoop at its lowest point, you should connect the tether wire to the mounting bracket, and then attempt to hoist the light upward by cranking up the height of the hoop, which will raise the light until you are able to insert the lower bolt/nut on the light pole, to the bracket on the post.. After the bottom hole is aligned, and the bolt/nut is inserted you can release tension on the tether wire by lowering the hoop. At this point, disconnect the tether wire and raise the hoop to your desired height. Repeat this process to change/replace light bulbs. The 500 watt bulbs that come with this kit will not last more than a month or two. I replaced mine with 300 watt rough service bulbs. Although the emitted light is about 20% less, it is still plenty of light to play and the bulbs have not blown. Overall we are very happy with this purchase! My kids love it!
