Works well depending upon location and type of shut off. First, shut off must be located facing away from wall and toward front of toilet. Second, it must be located toward left edge of toilet tank or your hand will still hit side of toilet. It's only 12 inches long to that's right around 5 fat part of the toilet. Third, shut off preferably should be quarter turn off on not the 10 turns like mine.. Lastly, if you don't have a practice of occasionally turning valve left and right it can become increasingly difficult to open and this tool being made of plastic can break.

Fits over the valve handle nicely, turns it easily. You don't have bend like a pretzel to get at the valve. It doesn't look real strong, I wouldn't get too rough with it.
