Being from Cincinnati and now out west, I really miss Cincinnati Chili. I'm very happy that Amazon offers these packets as it is a great bargain, better price than other sellers and now my mom doesn't have to mail them to me anymore.
When my friends find out I'm making a pot they all show up for 4 ways and Cheese Coney's and this is one of the rare meals that my kid doesn't shun. Mixes well, tastes great, and even better the next day.

Some say that it is not the same as Skyline but I disagree. I used 2lbs of 90% ground beef and simmered for at least 4 hours. I have to say if its not the same as Skyline then my taste buds are shot. I am 79 and have been eating Skyline 3 ways and Coneys as long as I can remember. It is much more reasonable than the cans cost wise. The only change I made was the amount of Ground Beef and the cooking time.It does cook down as I simmer it uncovered after the first Hour. Sometimes I have to add a little water. I freeze some for later and it is just as good as when first made. Try it you will like it.

I have been looking for this packet for years but never thought to look on Amazon. I was so very happy to find it on the website and had Cincinnati chili the next day! If you have never had it then you are missing a taste treat. I would suggest having it with cheese, onion, and saltine crackers on top served on a bed of spaghetti! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

I got this as a possible alternative to cans of Skyline. Skyline it ain't. Okay, so it doesn't equal my standard of Skyline. It is more cost effective. It tastes okay. It'll do. It'd be just great for Coney dogs. A big plus is being able to control grease. You can make it with next to no grease. Skyline cans are greasy. You can make it thick or thin. Skyline cans are thin and don't work well on Coney dogs. Again, this mix is okay, but I may bite the bullet and go back to Skyline cans.

My family cannot get enough of Cincinnati Chili and this seasoning is the best. I reduce the water, use one cup less than than the recipe on the envelope states so the chili turns out a little thicker (this is how we like it). The flavor is great as is, just follow the directions on the packet. No need for additional seasoning unless you prefer some extra heat (my family likes it spicy, so I do add just a pinch or two of cayenne pepper).
