this is one of the best sharpening systems out there
Eric A•June 9, 2017
For the money, this is one of the best sharpening systems out there. I have a Spyderco TriAngle sharpener (or whatever it's called) that is based on a similar principle only it uses triangular rods rather than round ones. It also costs three times as much but it does not work as well as this one. I also like the way the rods store in the box on the Lansky. It's true that the end cap on the Lansky is not super tight but I just put a ranger band around it rather than tighten the screw because that would probably eventually strip the screwhole. This is a very good product for the price.
Great Sharpener
Mr. Blackwell•May 20, 2017
As far as first impressions go this turn box sharpener has a great one. It feels and looks like a quality set, really surprised how nice considering the price. Sharpened one knife so far; worked great and took almost no time to figure out. Its a great buy.

The original Lansky system does a better job of establishing a precise, sharp edge, but it is slow and messy (oil). This tool takes a little longer to establish an initial edge on a new knife, but once that has been done, you can restore/touchup that edge in just a couple of minutes. I have a great variety of sharpening stones; this is the one I use.
Sharpest blade so far that's quick and fun to use
KW•March 16, 2017
Love this thing. Have used it twice to sharpen pocket knives (I have many) and have gotten best sharpening to the blade ever for a novice that hasn't had the patience or time before when using a square stone. It's quick and actually fun and love how sharp my blade is. Excited to use it for kitchen knives, etc. I Worry a little about it breaking one of the rods but so far it's great and holding up. Has great little storage holes in the block itself.
Good product

I've used stick knife sharpeners since the mid 1980's so I bought this for our son and will give it to him this coming CHristmas.
The material on this product is exactly what it should be to be a great sharpener.
Used correctly, this will last our son almost forever.
