This is an excellent filter that will last you a year approx. There is a big difference between using a filter and not.
The Con:
My beef is with the casing, not the filter per say. The casing is a nightmare to open and there is no way of knowing when the filter needs to be changed except by manually changing it once a year or waiting until your hair gets crispy, again.

I purchased this replacements to be able to save some money and not replace the whole thing every time I need to change the filter. Every single time I opened the case it broke and had to wait for a replacement. The company was good enough to provide me free case replacement but the whole wait and water leaks made me stop using these filters.
The filter itself is really good and I can feel on my hair and skin the difference. But as I mentioned since you cannot use it without the Sprite case it won't be something I plan on trying again.

The recommendation for this shower filter is roughly 1 year. However, since the apartment complex I live in has MAJOR levels of chlorine I actually have to change this every 6-8 months for a household of just 2 people. I have very sensitive skin so buying this was one of the best decisions I've made. This brand is great, it filters out all the chlorine and provides such a greater showering experience.
There is an indicator letting you know when to replace the filter (when the entire deposits turn from gold to black). In addition to this filter, I found another great trick to help moisturize and leave your skin feeling great is also installing a Vitamin C filter on top of that. Combine with both of those tips you skin feels great even after a hot shower with the softness of moist skin without any type of lotion.

With two people in the house taking shower ones a day for 7-10 minutes this filter is removing chloramines only for 1 week, tested with chlorine/chloramines test solution (I'm water quality specialist.) Ether they need to do this filter bigger either lower the price for half. Again this test is after one week of use!

Guess you don't know how well this works until it stops working. Filter last around 6 months for us so I need to make sure I replace it at that point. Missed replacing it a couple months back and we noticed that our skin was drying out and flaking again. These filters do a great job of removing the chlorine that can really dry up your skin. Once we started using this system our feet are no longer cracked and peeling and our skin is not flaking all over is a small blizzard when we remove our clothes. Highly recommend it for people who have dry skin problems
