fits in the original box. it allows for you to have one box instead of more. i do not know how many expansions and/or veriations you can store in the one box. now i can go and buy more expansions with out having to have all those boxes. also looks like it is made from compressed wood. so use a little wood glue and it will hold tight. it also makes the box more sturdy so storage is better.

I would consider this a must have for anyone with multiple Carcassonne expansions. It fits very snugly into the Carcassonne 2.0 box (new artwork). It took some manipulation and some minor sanding to get it in perfectly, but it is never coming back out now. Holds upwards of 300 tiles, tons of meeples, and most extras you can think of. I currently have the base game, the river, Inns and Cathedrals, Traders and Builders, the Princess and the Dragon, Mayor and Abbey, plus several mini expansions, and I still have room for roughly 80-90 more tiles comfortably. Great organizer.

I recently got into Carcassonne and wanted an organizer. This seemed to be the only reasonably priced solution. For the most part it's great.
I did see the stress on the box that others did. When one corner tore I relieved pressure on the opposite corner by cutting it as well. After that I used packing tape to reinforce the corners.
That one issue aside, I love it.
