My Favorite tool.

I LOVE this tool, so far. I Only tried it once just to make sure it worked but I think k the concept is wonderful. It's great for cutting branches to small for a regular chain saw but to big for a large pruner thingy. I tried a sawzaw and that was horrible vibration and sucked on cutting green branches.
8/8/2017 Update.
I'm still Loving this tool. I've cut down 3 4-5" small trees with this and cut all the branches, etc. into small pieces. Works wonderful.
Yes, oiling sucks since you don't know how much is in there and the bottle they give you is to big for the hole but otherwise I enjoy
it. Easy to use, even for women. Just be careful to try and cut straight and not slanted or else the chain could slip off.
This tool was excellent, just what I needed

This tool was excellent, just what I needed. I have a tall Areca palm that had grown way too big. I always trimmed it with a machete, a time consuming chore. The lopper did it in no time at all and the palm looks very good. Looking forward to use it in other trees and vegetation on my property.
Safe and very effective

This saw is awesome. I use it to half my 20 inch split firewood for our cook stove which cannot accept such a long piece. Some of the pieces are less than 6 inches and some greater than 6 inches in diameter. The oiler is a little wimpy. I found that just dripping it into the depression does not work to lubricate the chain. I noticed that there is some sort of cross split gasket at the foot of the conical depression, and that the nozzle of the bottle can be forced into this gasket, sort of sealing around it, and the oil squirted into the saw that way. The customer service at B&D is AWESOME. They instituted a corrective action and sent me a part within days of my request. I have cut oak, pine, cedar, maple, reclaimed half rotted beams and twigs, trimmed branches, and taught others how to use it safely.
What a time saver.

Fantastic buy. Much safer than chain saw. So much easier to use than conventional loppers. If you use them as intended you will be very happy with them. I have about 5 acres so I run them off my portable generator and it preforms fine. Keep chain well oiled. I use an old fashioned squeeze lever oil can and it works perfectly. The oil bottle they give you with it is a joke. Highly recommend this product. With the extended warranty for 6 bucks you get total of 4 years warranty.
Looks kinda like a chainsaw and a pair of lopping shears had offspring - but it works great!

Although the LP1000 Alligator may look a little strange and awkward at first, I am really glad that I bought one. Although I've got lots of bow-saws, hand-saws, chainsaws, cutoff saws, a reciprocating construction-type saw, etc., what finally made me buy this thing was the task of cutting up the body of an old, dead, black pine tree that we removed from our yard. It got nice and dry sitting in the yard for several months, and when I went to cut it up with my big ol' Husky chainsaw, it was just awkward and scary. The saw was really too big, and I didn't have a sawbuck or some other good way to hold the tree still while I cut it up. The Alligator solves that problem, because whatever you're cutting is gripped between the cutting bar and the sharply toothed lower jaw. Just hold the Alligator like a pair of lopping shears, open the jaws and place them around the branch you want to cut, and squeeze both of the handles. It even cut the 4-inch-plus trunk of the tree with ease! It cut a one-hour handsaw job down to about 7 minutes!
