Amazing on invasive blackberry plants, I wish I had one years ago!

I live in the Pacific Northwest. That means that I have uninvited blackberry vines on my property, lots of them. This rechargeable hedge trimmer is an amazing tool to deal with the constant frustration of keeping blackberry vines from swallowing our home. The charge on the battery lasts from 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how hard I'm working. I have two additional batteries, and generally go out armed with all three. By the time I've drained them all, I generally want to rest my arms. The trimmer itself is lightweight and easy to direct- I feel like I'm using a light saber to vanquish the evil blackberry empire! I wish that I had one of these years ago, I'd be much farther on my quest to abolish the invasive blackberry.

This hedge trimmer is very light and powerful. I thought about maybe getting the 40V instead but I went with this 20V and it does everything I wanted to do. I've got overgrown English Ivy on the ground that has grown so the thick branches are about 3/4 inch and the bush is about 1-2 feet from the ground. This trimmer cut them with no problems. The blade got stuck and it stopped operating when I tried to cut branches over 1 inch. I just took it out and cut it from the other side. This tool is highly effective in trimming ivy from the ground. What I do is run the blade from underneath the overgrown tangle of ivy very close to the ground and it cuts everything off in one swing. I then roll the cut part over and keep doing the same. Forget hand held pruning scissors and branch cutters. lol Youtube is wrong on this when I searched for how to get rid of English Ivy. Maybe some people have too much time on their hand but with this trimmer I'm going 20 times faster.
Light weight, but heavy-hitter. I LIKE it!

This is my first hedge trimmer. I knew I wanted a battery powered trimmer to get to my entire property without hundreds of feed of extension cords or the noise of a gas engine. But I was concerned about the power of a battery powered trimmer. If it can't handle anything but leafy little twigs, it will end up being an aggravation to me because I'll have to drag around a manual lopper for the bigger branches.
I was shopping the big brand names, but was intimidated by their price. So I put off the purchase. Then I was visiting a friend and noticed that he had an 18 volt B&D hedge trimmer. An old one. I asked him if I could borrow it for a test drive that afternoon. He agreed and I was impressed with the size of branches it would cut. The battery wore down quickly when I got into anything bigger than 5/16" but I figured the 20 volt model would improve on that.
I bought it and was not disappointed.
I know I annoy my neighbors with my gas powered tools. With this, they didn't even know I was at work in my yard. It cut through branches 3/8" with little difficulty. The battery lasted a long time too. AND since I also have a B&D 20 volt drill, I have an extra battery to extend my work time if I need it. All the tools in the B&D 20 volt line can share batteries.
And this is SO much lighter than a gas powered trimmer! That may not seem like much for a quick shaping of a single bush, but when you're going to be at it for HOURS, this makes a big difference to my shoulders.
Very nice tool.

Very light weight and maneuverable. Lose the cord and gain freedom. I used to have a corded version of this also by B&D, but once I cut the cord by mistake - oops. With this battery operated one, you no longer have to worry about cutting your own cord while shaping your bushes.
Pretty Sweet!
