Good cable for the money.

Good for the price. I'm using it to lock up a boat at a reservoir and it works fine. Plenty long enough to lock onto a tree. Also heavy enough to deter someone from stealing the boat unless they really want to, in which case no heavier cable is going to deter them, they will cut through anything if they really want to. I don't find very many steal small rowboats around here, it's way too much trouble for very little gain. They are far more likely to smash a boat in which case a lock and cable wouldn't stop them.
Working as a second locking mechanism on a pasture gate

Heavy duty is an apt description for this cable. I'm using it to secure a pasture gate with a serious padlock. I've had a problem recently with some kids in the neighborhood wanting to come in and see the horses. Rather than have them arrested at 11 for trespassing, I am double securing the gate with this chain. (One at the bottom and one at the top) So far it's not crimping or showing any wear after several days of rain. Bottom line is this works for my needs and parents need to teach their kids about private property.
I love the exterior finish of this cable

This is a very durable and well made cable. I use this cable to lock down my items that are aboard the roof rack of my 4runner to keep anyone from stealing the items up there. I love the exterior finish of this cable, its made of some kind of soft synthetic plastic that will not scratch up my paint. The metal cable inside is very strong and has yet to show sine of any weakness. I keep it outside in the weather constantly facing harsh conditions such as sub zero temps to a very scorching blazing sun that loves to bake things. I strap this down under high tensions and it has yet to break on me, I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a good cable for security.
Great for locking up a couple of kayaks

We bought these to lock up our kayaks in the backyard for a sense of security. We live in a safe neighborhood, but you never know these days. I added a Master Lock keyed lock to lock them up and we run the cable through both hand holes plus around the Kayaks and the tarp covering them. Should keep them dry and secure from just a random thief. The cable says it's saw proof and cutter proof, but I'm sure a good pair of bolt cutters would cut through it or the lock. You can never be 100%, but this is a good theft deterrent. We might use this cable to lock the kayaks to a roof rack when on vacation too! The plastic coating on the cable will help with scraping any car surface plus the cable itself is flexible like a thick rope so run through small gaps.
Sound investment.

Any cable is at the mercy of bolt cutters, but the thicker the cable the bigger the cutters (or the more time) required. This is a hefty cable, far better (for bikes, anyway) than the 4' Kryptonite 525 cable I also bought and managed to cut through with a box cutter. Nothing will keep your bike safe from a determined thief but the idea is to make your bike more difficult to steel than the bike next to yours.

My daughter doesn't really notice the extra weight. She rides for exercise and for transportation. For exercise, the added weight might just add to the physical effort needed (probably won't significantly build muscle or raise the heart rate). For transportation, she is usually off the bike longer than she is on, and she depends on the bike being there when she is ready to move on.

Sound investment. Not a panacea but better than the Kryptonite by far!
