Planet Bike's ARS was my third try at replacing an unforgiving factory saddle on my rather unforgiving MTB. I am a 6'-1", 190 pound male. I use this bike in TOO many ways- on and off trail/road and when on trail/road, typically cruising slowly with my eight year old behind me and for some of that at least, I prefer to actually sit in the saddle (lazy?). With the factory saddle, a 20 minute ride made me feel like I had ridden cross country bareback. I'm not as young as I used to be, but I like to think that I am far from "soft." The two other "relief" saddles I tried were improvements over factory, but longer/rougher rides sent me back to bareback familiarity, and the saddles were heavy. I have lots of other Planet Bike goodies on my family bikes that have invariably provided rock solid product performance. Amazon had a great price on the ARS saddle so I took a shot. It was delivered lightning fast and in perfect condition (not always the case with my growing Amazon experiences). The saddle was surprisingly light; great since I ride hills and have no interest in ANY extra ounces. I put it on my bike same day- easy install; nice sturdy structure; no surprises. At first plop, I was sold, and after a 20 minute ride, I had to write a review. It truly is a great saddle for me and my riding style(s). Not too big (again, I am fairly "slim"), not too small; not too soft, not too firm. It doesn't take care of all of the male anatomy issues experienced while sitting on anything short of a Lazy-Boy, but for the most part, nothing vital felt crushed! I didn't want the weight, look, or restrictions (or peer abuse) associated with a big ole' cruising saddle, so this thing is perfect for me. I've got several hours of riding on it now. Not sure how it will hold up long-term. Cover seems a little suspect, albeit better than others, and again- this is a "comfort" saddle. If it dies in 6 months, I'd buy another one instantly. Highly recommend it.

**** UPDATE **** I have been riding on this seat for almost a year (lots o'hours)- rough stuff and cissy stuff, and it still looks and feels great. The only issue is that the screening/logo are pretty much worn off. My bike lives indoors, so I can't comment on how the saddle would perform if left exposed to the elements, but it feels the same as it did when I first installed it. As some reviewers have noted/complained about- It is NOT soft and cushy- don't let the gel-fill fool you. But it's not supposed to be soft and cushy. If you spend 100% of your riding time planted firmly in the sadlle, this seat may not be for you- try the aforementioned Lazy-Boy. If you tend to be light in the saddle or split time up in the stirrups/on the pedals, you will likely be fine. Good luck and ride safely (mostly).
This Saddle is a Huge Improvement!

I ordered this bike because the saddle on my used Walmart (I admit it) road bike was killing my nether regions. I have been riding for a year now and despite the origin of my bike, I have fallen in love with the sport and I usually go out for 15-20 mile rides and just enjoy the freedom it provides. However, this season, my saddle became so painful that the fun was turning into sort of torture-endurance. I decided to look for a new saddle but I hear so many stories of people spending all kinds of money trying to find the "right" saddle and if my bike is any indication, I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend to go through different saddles. Anyway, I read the reviews on this saddle and being a bigger guy (240 lbs), I decided to give it a whirl based on the cheap cost. Now, keep in mind that I also ordered a pair Pearl iZumi Men's Quest Cycling Shorts that I had read about on Amazon. I say that because I figured a seat AND shorts might help. On my first ride out with the saddle and the shorts, I was able to ride for 30 miles with hardly any pain! I did notice that there would be a little pain when the bike short padding would get bunched up but after a readjustment, I was fine again. It makes me wonder if the seat would have caused pain without the shorts. I highly recommend buying shorts if you don't own any! I wish I hadn't waited so long. The padding makes a big difference. I did notice the stickers coming off after the first ride but I don't really care about that. I would rather have a plain seat then one with logos anyway. I was surprised at how soft the seat was. Some people have said that it is still a firm seat but after riding on my previous torture device, I feel that this is almost too padded. I do feel that this is a great seat. For the price, I figured I could give it a shot. I'm definitely happy with the purchase!
Great basic seat

This keeps my legs and rear end happy. Other seats pinch a nerve and my legs go numb. Bought another for my kid. Good price.
Super Comfortable

I got this for a hybrid bike that had a super plush comfort seat. This is much thinner than the stock saddle and is super comfortable. It was easy to install (depends on bike, but mine just had a bolt that loosened the holder and than I swapped them out and aligned it). I will note that I aimed this one down a little more than the stock saddle since it was a tad high in the front part (compared to the position of the old saddle).

The saddle is super comfortable, I do not even feel it when riding. At first the back seemed too hard, but after two rides it was like nothing was their. The front is super thin and has an air hold so I do not have that squishing feeling in the front, the back offers support right on the tailbone and I do not have any discomfort.

I highly recommend this seat! It is super soft and plush without being so large that it squishes everything and and not as thin as a road bike seat where it is like sitting on concrete. I find it to be a perfect seat and it was super reasonable (price wise). It looks sharp and really looks great on my bike.

I will note that the front sticker came off after two rides (I assume friction from thighs), however, this is OK since it looks much better without those stickers. The back stickers are still their and one day I might take the time to get them off.

I also want to note that the top is like a cloth material, and after a ride it was wet with sweat. So make sure to let it dry out, otherwise it may start to stink (also Febreeze would not hurt every once in a while). The sides and tips are a black looking leather. I think the top cloth like part is for breathability.
