Great for the money

I bought these for my daughter who loves to cook and wanted a good set of knives. Great knives, feel good in your hand and have a nice weight to them.
Knives appear fine but packaging is opened

Knives appear fine but the packaging was already cut opened like it was a return. It's a Christmas gift so that's going to look really classy... I don't want to deal with a return so ill keep them and apologize to the recipient

Used these knives a few times now. VERY heavy and thick knives even for forged. I purchased a knife drawer knife block with 7 slots. 4 for steak knives and 3 for these knives. Works very well. The large chef knife is a little particular as to how it needs to be placed because it's so thick but it works. Again the big takeaway here is they are much heavier but they don't fee bad while cutting. Otherwise a very nice entry level forge knife set for those that don't want to spend $100's or more.

I have had a couple Henckels knifes in my life and loved them. I was dating a lady for 5 months when Christmas time was near. Months dating is a short time to purchase nice jewelry. When I would prepare a meal at her house I could not believe the poor quality cutlery she had for a women that loved to cook. I read the reviews since I was used to German Henckels. Maybe it wasn't the most romantic gift but after a couple months of her using them she told me that that was the best Christmas gift. She could not believe the difference a quality knife set makes. Well balanced, very sharp and she is happy. But even the best of knifes will need to be sharpened. In my trunk I have a small vintage two sided sharpening stone so every few months I I oil up the stone and make sure they cut like new. I also gave her a magnetic wall knife holder which she loves and never knew they existed.

I love every knife in this set! They came sharp, but I still gave them a couple passes over my ceramic rod before first use. The edges hold up nicely and they cut great through most everything I throw at them. I retired my old Ikea damascus chef's knife and all my others. I have since bought most of the other knives I need from the Forged Synergy line and I am very happy with all of them. They look beautiful together and with a little care when washing and a nice dry, they stay shiny and spotless. These are the nicest knives I have ever owned. I have a real hard time spending hard earned money on kitchen utensils as I am not a chef, I don't even play one on TV. I do however cook...every day, and having a decent set of knives has made it even more enjoyable than it already was. I wish they made a carving fork and cleaver in the Forged Synergy line but I have been able to find ones that complement them well anyways.
