Mostly a good mailbox: it's pretty big, sturdy, and stormproof.

The only problem is that the front edge is rolled inward, not outward. This means that if your mailbox is reasonably full of mail, it's hard to slide it out. You have to finagle your mail past the inward-rolled edge, and/or tear all your mail. It's like a ratchet: makes it easy to put things in but hard to get them out again. That would have been an incredibly easy thing to fix--and indeed would also make the door more stormproof, although I haven't had trouble with leaking.

So much better than expected! This is an exceptional value for the price (about $15). I would have expected this quality with some of the other products I was going to purchase for $35+. Super happy with the purchase. I ordered the bronze, and the product is a beautiful brushed bronze color and looks exactly like the picture. The finish is not smooth/shiny, it is a rough material with matte finish which I love. It feels rustic to me. My only concern is that because of the rough finish, you wouldn't be able to put number/letter stickers on the side. I will have to afix them to the post - no big deal. The moving components work nice and smooth, the door closes securely, and the flag is stiff and stays put when either up or down. Awesome value, I highly recommend!

I had to replace my mailbox since some jerk came around the corner and demolished the old one, steel pole and all, and then drove off. It's supposedly a federal offense to mess with the US mail but apparently the police don't care enough to call back so I can report it. But boy, am I watching out as I drive around, for a white truck or SUV that has a crumpled right front bumper!

Anyway.... (OT but I am still pissed off!)

This is the box I ordered to replace the plastic one; also ordered the steel pole that is recommended. They came very quickly, packed all in *one* box which is great. The box is sturdy, spacious and well made. It closes with a *snap* over the built in ridge and the 'flag' is sturdy and well attached. Installing the pole in cement and the attaching the mailbox was easy and stress free. Nothing fancy

I looked at Mailboxes for quite some time before deciding on this one. My problem was the cheapest ones felt, well cheap. The ones that I liked in a standard size that felt like nice and where sturdy were extremely pricey. I was looking for the best mailbox for my money and this one delivered for me. I was not expecting super quality because of the price but at this price point, this mailbox was much nicer than the ones that I put my hands on in all of the stores I went to. I was very pleased with the color and quality for the money. We had no problems installing it and it looks great. I purchased some custom rub on lettering to go on it and it made it look cute and custom. This was exactly the color that I was searching for to place on a white maintenance free post. A border, mulch and some solar lights, and I have the best mailbox on the block! The only small issue that I do have with it is it does stick a bit when closing the box. It takes a bit more force than I would like to close it all the way. However, once closed and snapped in place, it is a super tight fit and it will not fall down. I can live with this.

I used this for cards at my wedding, I, being a basic white girl wrapped burlap ribbon around it and stenciled our last name with sharpie markers. Went very well with my cliché "country themed" wedding complete with mason jars and bullet casings.
