My friend and I agree that this is the best money ever spent
Heather Putnam•September 21, 2017
My friend and I agree that this is the best money ever spent. 3", 5", 8", 10" wood posts sunk 3 ft in wet ground. Suction prevented us from just loosening and pulling out by hand. With 3ft of chain and hook on this puller placed on a 3ft 2x6 base pulled everything. A couple gave my 170lb friend trouble but I put my 220lbs on it and everything came out. It took longer to load the posts than to pull them. Pulled 50 posts and loaded them myself in 2 hours. Pulled another 100+ the next day but had to remove wire as well so not sure on time there. Its a shame I can't rate this higher than 5 STARS!!!
Seems sturdy until you use it

I don't throw out one-star reviews like they're meaningless, but I think this item truly earned it. It broke on approximately the twelfth post I pulled, on its first day of use. The problem seems to be that the walls of both the main column and the handle are fairly thin, allowing the pivoting screw to tear through the metal when enough force is applied. For comparison, I've included pictures of this item (black) and a different post puller (red) that has thicker walls, and has withstood much more force. In addition, the pivoting bolt that connects the handle to the column is smaller than the hole it fits through, which allows the handle to undesirably wobble side to side.
great price and works perfect

I am impressed!
Showed up on time and looked exactly like I was hoping. I needed it for a small job of about 50 posts to
remove because I was moving and didn't want to leave them behind. It took about 10 minutes for the first 3-4
then the learning curve was over and took less than 2 minutes each for the rest of them. The dirt here ( the sierras)
is mostly clay and doing this in the spring while there is still moisture in the soil made it easy.
I would give it 5 stars but it could use a bigger foot platform. I didn't need it but a piece of 2x6x6" would help
if the ground is soft.

works like a charm

I have a 20 acre field I recently purchased. The fence line was off so I needed to have the posts removed. In past experience I learned that the shovel is not the best. I don't have enough money to pay someone to do the fence so I decided I needed something that would make it easier for me. I read some other reviews and gave this a go. I removed about 20 in about 30 minutes. Keep in mind I had to unhook the wire and walk from post to post, so I think I was doing pretty good time. It was easy to use and didn't take much brain power to figure it out. The only thing that I don't like about it is the plastic handle on the end of the pipe keeps slipping off, but is a easy fix if you care to have it. I don't need it, so I just left it off. I think it is more so bugs don't climb into the end of the handle. There is not a need for it otherwise. But, all in all, it works great and was easy to use and haul around. My 100 lb kid pulled out a couple posts, but was jumping and doing pull ups to get the posts out, but he did get them.
Even a smaller person can pull posts!

Does exactly what it needs to do. I pulled out some posts without much difficulty. Not a large person, so it's really helpful.
You have to get the bottom of the stand right next to the post, and line it up so the part that goes over the post will catch on the bumps, then pull the lever down. I had to do it several times to pull the posts out, moving the part that holds the post down.
Right at first I had to push pretty hard on the lever to loosen it, but after that it was just a matter of working it out. If you have posts to pull, with nobody to help you, definitely worth it!
