Snow shovels are a matter of personal preference. I'm over 6 feet tall and most shovels I've used are either too short, bent at the wrong angle, too heavy, or all three. The Garant NPP21KDU is the best snow shovel I've ever used. It's exactly the right length, and the blade is at exactly the right angle, for my height. It's also light weight and easy to handle, yet solidly built. This is the third one I've purchased. The other two are still going strong, but now I have three of them in strategic locations at the front and back of our house, and in the garage, so one is always readily accessible wherever I need it. We're located in upstate New York, and I mean WAY upstate, just south of Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. Snow removal can be a serious proposition up here, and I would not be without my three Garant shovels.

I was looking to purchase a high quality ergonomic snow shovel for your New England snowstorms. This was exactly what I wanted. It may appear pricey though I am one to believe you get what you pay for in some instances and this shovel will many a storm. The ergonomic design really does alleviate stress on the back and arms. I can literally push the snow and then lift and throw it if need by (usually after a few storms). The 24 inch blade covers a lot of area with adding so much weight that I cannot manage it. Would highly recommend and after a comprehensive search this is the only site I was able to find this particular shovel. It was a great decision. It was not due to be delivered until about 3 days after a major snowstorm in December. Much to my surprise it was delivered a day BEFORE the storm hit so I was really able to test it out. That is great customer service.

Living in SW Wyoming where the winters can be brutal, I ordered 2 of these snow pushers knowing they didn't come with a metal blade. I don't know how long they will last with just the bare poly blade. I've used these several times now and they work better than expected. They cut through tire-packed snow and hard frozen slush as work well or better than the metal shovel I've been using. There are side barriers that keep most of the snow from falling off to the sides. That counts for a lot. These shovels are light, but very sturdy, well made and well balanced. I just ordered another one today. It's always been my luck that if and when I purchase an item that works well and I like, they are gone the next time I need one. So, the extra spare that I can squirrel away for when this one wears out, if it does within 2 or 3 years. Some reviewers say they've had theirs for as many as 7 years. Let's hope they are right. They are cost effective at $47.00 and free shipping with minimum purchase.

Bought this awhile back in preparation for winter and got to use it today. Shoveled my sidewalks and cleaned up the parking area. Snow removal was painless, just find your pitch and push away. Blade cut nicely and is very slick. Snow rolls off this shovel with ease, making for simple clean off. Sturdy handle and solid hardware.

Overall this shovel was a good choice for the money and will likely serve me for years to come.

I have gotten a chance to use this after two significant snow storms this winter, and I can't believe I haven't switched to one of these sooner. It works great in wet snow. I used it a few times with 2-3 inch accumulations. On dry powdery snow, no real effort was really needed pushing that stuff around.

This really cuts down on how long I spend outside, and it really is easy on the back. I didn't have to stop and take a break because it was easy to push and my work was finished before I knew it. Only downside is the line of rust that it leaves on the concrete garage floor, but that is to be expected with the use of salt in our area, and because it does not get wiped dry after use.
