I love this puzzle! Most importantly, my two year old LOVES this puzzle. I have searched high and low for one like it, but can't find one! Melissa & Doug should make a similar chunky puzzle. This one is GREAT for fine motor skills and toddlers learning to go beyond simple chunky puzzles with single images/pieces.

My 17 month old received this a month ago. He likes fire trucks, and I thought it might be time for a puzzle slightly more challenging than the wooden peg puzzles. I definitely thought he might be too young for this, he LOVES it. He plays with this on his own, he plays with it with others, he asks you to come help him with it, its really great. The quality is excellent as well. I highly recommend.

I was shopping for puzzles and like to get the most bang for my buck. This one will last awhile and my little one loves fire trucks! It's easy enough for a toddler to work as they learn how to piece together puzzles. Offers a lot of pieces for the price and very durable.

This puzzle was purchased as a Christmas gift for my great-nephew. I was very surprised at how thick the puzzle pieces were. Needless to say, I was impressed and his fire-fighting parents loved the theme of the puzzle. I would buy this brand again in the future.

What I like about this puzzle is that it presents a new kind of challenge - different from the peg or chunky or jigsaw puzzle types. If your child enjoys puzzles, I do recommend you buy him this one, and buy it earlier than the recommended age (which I find a bit ridiculous - 3 to 6 years old?) I bought it when my son was 18 months and he loved playing with it; he learned to put it together little by little - first the easy pieces (the dog, the wheels) and then eventually (in less than a month) the whole thing - I do like toys that pose a challenge. He played with it (more like worked on it, really) many times every day for about three months, but after that it just got too easy. I find the picture a little ugly, frankly, but he didn't care... The quality of the toy is better than other Melissa and Doug toys we have, which are often pretty cheaply made - but they sell them cheap, too. :-) Here the pieces are painted on all sides instead of just having the picture glued to the top. The wood is pretty soft, so you will see some denting/damage over time, but it's pretty minor.
