These are not only great for developing your toddler's fine motor skills (since they have to pick the pieces out by the little peg), but also teaches them about animals. My toddler loves animals and loves making animal sounds so even when she doesn't feel like putting the puzzle pieces in the board she enjoys playing with the animal puzzle pieces themselves. It's also a great way to introduce the idea of puzzles to them. Where the puzzle piece goes on the board they have printed the exact picture of the animal on the corresponding puzzle piece, so your toddler can look for the matching spot to their puzzle piece before attempting to position the shape into place. The animal illustrations are very cute too!
