This stuff actually works! I was skeptical at first because anything that I purchase, never works! My son fell at school and had this huge scar on his right cheekbone. At first I was only applying neosporin for it to heal but then it left this dark scar on his face when I stopped applying that. I purchased the maderma and started using it right away, applying it twice a day. Once I started noticing it going away, I only applied it once a day due to laziness. It took a few months for it to fully disappear but it worked! I know for sure this product helped because no way would that dark scar would have gone away by itself.
smell and color are too attractive to children

Our 18 mo shouldn't want to play with, eat, or touch the mederma. The color is a dark purple (rubs on clear) and smells nice. Normally, thats great. Small kids who skin their knees a lot need something less desirable. We would prefer the adult version, but fear the chemical composition may not suited for children. Our pedi did recommend mederma.

The gel is a little purple and sweet smelling, but I feel like the coloring isn't as scary as some reviews make it sound. I rub it into my 3 year old's facial scar twice a day, and he doesn't complain about it itching or being uncomfortable. His scar is mostly discoloration rather than keloid and has faded significantly, although the improvement took a while to see, about 6 weeks. Since the little tube goes a long way, I also use it myself on the occasional acne scar. I am happy with this purchase.
Didn't see a huge improvement, but still believe it has significant benefits on scars.

My daughter had a pretty visible scare from a deep cut on her forehead. Once the stitches were off and she could use ointment I started to apply this product every at night. It's been about three months now, but I don't see a significant amount of improvement on the scare. I know that goes into many factors (stitching method and after care) but I figured it would be significantly improved as was stated in other reviews. Either way it is highly recommended so it will still be used as part of the daily process. At least it smells good, and my daughter doesn't try to wipe it off so she is getting the full effects of it's benefits.
