It costs more, but does more. I will always have one now.

It is a comprehensive tool that is very helpful in tracking down faults. This one looks at the ABS, and air bags too It helped me track down some wires a critter had chewed on. (We live in the country). If you just work on motors, the ones that work with a smart phone have a better interface. They are cheap, get both!

No manual but after about 15 minutes you can get the hang of operating. Connector is illuminated for easy connection. If it came with a manual I would have given it 5 stars
Nice Scanner

Great scanner pays for its self, let's me get repairs done faster..only complaint is the display sticker they put the screen didn't come off easy, rips off in pieces and leaves behind residue,if not careful you will scratch the screen.
Note:Bought a cheap hard-shell firearm/pistol case to store it in & protect it from future damage.

I used this to pinpoint the cause of my engine check light for one of my 2000 Toyota Tundra oxygen sensor failures. Bought the replacement on Auto Zone, reset the code, and all is well. Buying this unit and the universal wrench head and a tube of anti-seize compound, was *still* cheaper than having the car dealer charge me over $350 to do the same work. It's probably more than that today since that was the price I paid years ago to accomplish the same goal. My Tundra has had (7) O2 sensor failures! When I complained to the dealer they just shrug their shoulders and want my money.
You might want to consider an upgrade to the best unit they sell because it works with your battery as this one does not.
