The secret to more hook ups...
BLS FL✓ Verified Purchase•April 1, 2015
I'm not sure what these beads were designed to do but I use them to keep live baits from fouling on my hook and they work perfect. We fish a lot of live bait here in FL (pilchards aka scaled sardines and green backs aka threadfin herring). We nose hook the baits to make them last longer and a lot of times the hook will twist around and become re-hooked in the bait causing you to miss a lot of hook sets on fish. Years ago someone taught me the solution of sliding one of these little beads on your hook before hooking the bait. If you position the bead at the bend of the hook it keeps the hook from sliding through the baits nose and becoming re-hooked in the bait. You hook up ratio goes up exponentially using this method and I've never noticed it having any impact on the amount of strikes I get as the bead is rather inconspicuous. Try it, you'll catch more fish guaranteed!
