These clippers are the best I have ever used and I am 68x they are sharp, well made and don't sharpen the nails, they clip them. Precision made as are most of the things made in that place in Japan.

I pride myself on keeping and using things for a long, long time. Case in point, a Revlon nail care kit that I received when I was 10 years old is now almost 50 years old and everything still works - nail clippers, files, cuticle shovels and diggers, etc., but I needed to replace my cheap travel clipper. This Seki clipper is like a completely different tool. Sure, the old one still "worked", but this Seki just effortlessly and quietly slices through the nail, leaving the clipping sitting in its jaws waiting patiently to be dumped into the trash can. The old clipper, and any other clipper I've ever used, requires pressing down on the lever until it has built up enough pressure to break through the nail with a resounding "SNAP" which then sends the nail clipping flying across the room landing somewhere in the carpet only to be found later by a bare foot when you least expect it. Yes, it's just a nail clipper, but for anyone who hasn't upgraded in 50 years like me, now is the time. Is it life changing? No. Does it make the task of trimming your nails less of a chore? For me (and my wife who also found it amazing), it does. I'll be purchasing a second one so I can enjoy it at home and while traveling.

As a massage therapist the condition of your nails is of professional importance, and sharp accurate clippers such as these Seki are a necessary part of my regular nail routine. If you've never tried them it's difficult to explain, but once you have you will never go back to ¢.99 drug store clippers.

I bought these on a whim after having spent my life using the typical $1.99 clippers you find everywhere. Are these worth the extra expense? Absolutely! There's no twisting in the body of the clippers when you put pressure on them to make the cut because of a much more solid construction but you have to use less pressure to cut anyway.
