Our range hood had only a Hi-Lo switch, The Lo setting moved little air. The Hi setting was overwhelming (think Boeing here). Wired this into the circuit by-passing the factory switch. Unit goes from Off to Hi seamlessly and the wife loves it. No problems with heat issues.

It works as advertised, just wish it would slow the motor a bit more. Guess I'll find a lower RPM motor.
