I get that this is a fairly inexpensive kit, but this is something you should probably only buy your children to play with. The stethoscope itself is absolutely horrible when it comes to trying to listen to heartbeats and lung sounds. The rest of the equipment is pretty standard and doesn't really make much of a difference on whether you buy a more expensive penlight and scissors.

This is an okay stethoscope. You could get all the extras at the 99cent store. You could get a pen, scissors, and a light for 3 dollars. You could get a better stethoscope if you buy it individually.

This thing is a joke. I have used an ADC stethoscope for years and it is very high quality. Thought I'd get a new one, and quality has gone way down. Only giving the 2 stars because i was able to take it apart and fix the bell on my old one.
but have tried it out on my own pets at home and it works great. Looking forward to using it during my externship

Unless you are in a completely silent room, you HAVE to concentrate to hear apical pulse. A fellow nursing student tried her MDF and this ADC to find my pulse and she said the MDF is 3xs louder. I will have to find another because I'm not going to suffer through clinicals second guessing myself. I have to be more accurate.
