GREAT STAINLESS POT
Michael SandersApril 19, 2017
I finally cooked a meat sauce in my huge pot. Worked like a charm. I have a non commercial gas stove. It does take a bit more time to get this pot up to heat but it cooks nicely. I think the triply bottom helps distribute the heat as it was described. I followed the directions by not using high heat once the pot was up to cooking temperature. Cleans nicely too. I do like how the pot is well made with the thick triply bottom and the sturdy handles. I have a 20 quart but I think I'm going to get a 30 quart too.
Beer me!

Used for brewing 5 gallon batches of beer. Works great and at the time I couldn't find a better price locally.
Appears to be a good pot, but be aware of quality control and handling abuse
ISB70November 11, 2015
This stock pot arrived fine and works fine as a stock pot. I'm using this item along with an outdoor propane cooker for making large stews and boiled peanuts. While the item will work fine as received, I did see some clear signs of abuse and poor quality control, which likely occurred at the factory. I was looking inside the pot and noticed an inward dent where the bottom of the pot curves into the pot's side. I looked at the same place on the outside of the pot, and there was an obvious strike point where the bottom clad and the pot bottom joined. Even the edge of the clad piece was dented. It looks like the bottom edge of the pot was either struck with a hammer or banged against the edge of a hard work surface based on the shape of the dent. This was a hard strike that likely did not occur after the pot was packed because a hit this hard to this small of an area would have left a visible indication on the box, and the box was fine. There were other small scuffs and scrapes on the stainless, but it's very difficult to find pristine stainless on a pot this big. While I don't intend to send this back, future purchasers should be aware that (like other reviewers have mentioned) the quality control and abuse factor is in-line with what we've come to expect these days. The pot should cook fine, but I gave only 4 stars for the quality control issue.
Exactly what I needed to make beef stock
Grace F.May 12, 2014
So I ordered half a cow and asked for the bones. Little did I know how BIG the bones were and how much broth it would make. We ordered this stock pot and it came in the 2 day delivery period. It was huge, worked as intended and held the bones and amount of stock I needed. Seems to be of great qaulity and we have used it more than we expected.
Great pot, not for stove tops
William E. LindemanApril 6, 2013
The first good news is the pot arrived in excellent condition, none of the dents or out-of-round shapes some reviews claimed, and is in deed heavy gauge and seems very sturdy. Until I move beyond eight or nine gallon boils I believe this is the last brew pot I will need.

The bad news is that residential stove tops, at least like I can afford, are not designed for such large diameter pots. On our stove the pot literally rested on raised portions of the stove top itself and touched an adjacent burner. As result so much heat was lost to those other surfaces that I could never achieve a boil. and resorted to multiple small pots on various burners.

The other good news is this resulted in buying a really good and surprisingly affordable gas burner, that paired with the great pot has me really well set from this point forward.
