Purchased this stock pot June 2014. Expected it to outlast me. When I went to boil potato's for a big family dinner Dec 31st 2017, there was a pin-whole in the side of the pot. Had water on the floor, it was a mess. This 36 Qt. pot apparently had a defect in the stainless steel as the rest of the pot is in great shape. I will be asking for a replacement as this is clearly a manufacturing defect.
Low Quality steel

Used for 1 season of steaming crabs, washed it with soap and water after each use. Put it away in November. Took it out in April to use it, put it on the burner added water and noted water leaking out. Holes corroded into the bottom of the pot. I always thought stainless didn't corrode and since I didn't take it out to use in the winter this year for oysters I didn't know holes were corroded through till the 14 month time frame . When I contacted the seller I was told "Well that only has 12 month warranty can't help you ". I have other pots that I have had for 7 to 8 years with no corrosion issues. I'm going to look for other sellers with better quality products that will last well past their 12 month warranty for corrosion in stainless steel
The perfect Crawfish pot!

I purchased this pot last minute because I had forgotten my other pot back home in Louisiana when I moved to Seattle....and then forgot that I forgot. Alas, with only a few days to go before my first Pacific Northwest crawfish boil, Amazon had my back and got the pot delivered with time to spare.
You can easily tell that it's built with quality in mind and cleans up easily. I did four boils pretty much back to back, so it took some heat and performed admirably. The crawfish were tasty and I got to introduce many first timers to the experience. All in all, I'm very satisfied.
FYI: For my Louisiana friends, the crawfish in the picture are native to Washington State, so they look a little different than we're used to but man are they tasty.

Great stainless kettle. Excellent for BIAB brewing.

I use this for brewing homebrewed beer and I love it!
I use the brew-in-a-bag method and the straining bucket is great for that. I line the strainer with my brew bag, after my mash I hoist the straining bucket out with a rope and pulley and it works great, easy to do.
The kettle itself is of great quality, thick and stainless. I have moved this kettle full of water many times and the handles seem solid.
For the price this kettle is awesome.
Highly recommended.

Bad Handle!

Due to the construction, the handle on the basket pokes out the sides of the basket way too far. The basket can be forced in, but during cooking it will splash hot oil or water if it is pulled hard to get the stuck basket out. There is no need for it to be forced in. The handle ends sticking out does not let the lip of the basket rest on the inner lip properly; rather the handle hangs up on the inner lip and the basket does not sit down far enough onto the lip. For example, the lid will not fit on it with the basket sticking up off the lip. I like the materials, but the basket is practically useless due to cheap handle design. The handle should have been cut down or bent more or the inner lip should have had notches out for the handle ends. A replacement handle that actually works would be nice and change my review of the product to positive. I tried bending it further with vice grips today, but that didn't work due to lack of leverage, and I only cut myself trying to further bend the end piece I guess I will try cutting it down with a hacksaw or grinder, tomorrow, and if that defeats it from staying on the basket, I will use a coat hanger to replace the handle. Bayou Classics need to make sure the basket sits easily and properly in the pot and that the ends of the handles are bent or cut up far enough not to hang up on the inner lip. Quality control is heavily lacking!
