I runs well for long periods of time but it's not an air conditioner more like a fan and when u add ice it don't do nothing don't get cooler at all. It's only a fan and the only way it will cool you off is if you have your face right in it. It's good to accommodate an actual air conditioner because it's blows so far on the high speed. I have a six month old and it doesn't do nothing for her but keeps her fussy cuz the room still be hot save your money and get a real air conditioner.

Arrived onetime and did not cool well at all., added aspen cooling pad and now unit works very well!
